Elaina Mosher - Cello

Elaina Mosher began her musical career by playing piano at age 7. She picked up playing the cello when she was 12 only after convincing her mother it was worthwhile to learn two instruments.

At age 17, she was featured as a soloist on the KMFA Classical Austin Music radio station with the Austin Chamber Music Center. In addition to Anne Williams, she has studied under Joshua Gindele, Alan Rafferty, Astrid Schween and John Sharp.

Most recently, Elaina graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance under Anne Martindale Williams. While at CMU, she served as Principal of the CMU Philharmonic, performed with the Honors Quartet, and won the School of Music Chamber Competition. She recently had the privilege to perform alongside Yo-Yo Ma in 2022. Elaina plays with the Westmoreland, Wheeling and Johnstown Symphonies in addition to several other chamber groups across Pittsburgh.

Outside of performing, Elaina graduated from CMU with a Minor in Physics and is a professional piano tuner and technician in Pittsburgh. She also loves teaching, design, and cheering on the Steelers. For the record, she still plays piano but makes no claim of being a pianist.

Elaina joined Radiant Strings in 2023 after the two were brought together by mutual friends. Nicole played for Elaina’s proposal in the summer of 2023 and has gotten to know as an incredibly smart and amazing musician.
